The humble scissor roof truss is a great alternative to a raised tie truss and provides additional ceiling height and character thanks to its vaulted design. A scissor truss is a great option for those wanting something slightly different and with more charm than a standard truss, albeit with a sacrifice in attic space. Thanks to their shape, a scissor truss is able to use the same timber sizes as a standard truss, making them roughly the same price but with more character and internal space than other options.
