How to Order Roof Trusses Online
Share
We understand that ordering roof trusses online is an alien concept. For as long as the industry has existed, the process has largely been the same—email someone your drawings (or post them), receive quote, proceed with quote, trusses arrive. But, with the internet being the all-powering, all-knowing entity that it is now, we thought why not add another option to the mix? If you've got a simple project, like a garage or a straight run of trusses, you can order via our website. Please note, we still carry out bespoke quotes, and most of the business still works this way. If you'd like a quote the traditional way, please get in touch.
1. Select the type of truss you want. A standard (or fink) truss is the most popular choice. It's good value, simple and strong. An attic truss is more expensive but allows you to have a habitable room within the truss. A mono truss is similar to a fink truss, but with only one slope. Raised tie and scissor trusses require a bespoke quote.

2. Input the dimensions you require. You can learn how to do that below. If you get stuck, give us a ring (01432 355046) or email us (enquiries@tailormadedesigns.co.uk). We don't typically come out to measure for you, but we can walk it through with you over the phone. If you have drawings to attach, please also do this here as it makes the process a lot quicker and more accurate.
3. Select the quantity you require. You can do this by dividing your roof length (let's say it's 10 metres) by the spacing in between the trusses (600mm usually), then adding 1. So, 10000mm (10m) divided by 600mm = 16.6 (we don't need to count the 0.6), then +1. So 17 trusses. While you're there, select a date you'd like the trusses delivered. We can't guarantee a specific date, but we'll always try! To make life easier, we have a calculator here to work out the correct amount of trusses.
4. Finally, proceed to the checkout, input your delivery address, contact details and anything else the website asks for, and place the order.
What happens then?
We'll receive your order but we won't actually take the payment; it'll appear as pending in your bank account. We'll get straight to work designing your trusses according to the drawings & dimensions you've submitted. Once this is done, we'll email it over to you to check.
Once you've checked our design and cross-referenced it to your building to double check all is correct, you simply confirm via email that it is correct, and we'll begin manufacturing. This is where we'll take your payment. A short while later, usually on Wednesday before the week you'd like them delivered, we'll confirm an exact date and rough time for delivery. One of our drivers will then arrive at your site for you to begin offloading.
